La représentation des processus mémoriels dans Palombella rossa de Nanni Moretti
Résumé
Through the in-depth aesthetic and narrative analysis of certain scenes and segments of Palombella rossa (Nanni Moretti, 1989), the study seeks to show by which means the director reconstructs a memory and what results from it. Palombella rossa constitutes a metaphor for the imminent fall of the PCI in Italy at the end of the 1990s. After a presentation of the historical and cinematographic context, the analysis focuses on the study of the central system and the major dynamics at work. Then, through the prism of the characters, we discover resurgent features of the Italian satirical theatrical tradition. The way in which Moretti plays with external popular imaginations to construct Palombella rossa is then discussed. Finally, we end up highlighting the memory process in (re)construction by proposing several readings of the film and showing the importance of certain recurring sequences and staging effects.
À travers l’analyse esthétique et narrative approfondie de certaines scènes et segments de Palombella rossa (Nanni Moretti, 1989), l’étude cherche à montrer par quels moyens le réalisateur reconstruit une mémoire et ce qu’il en résulte. Palombella rossa constitue une métaphore de la chute imminente du PCI en Italie à la fin des années 1990. Après une présentation du contexte historique et cinématographique, l’analyse se porte sur l’étude du dispositif central et des grandes dynamiques à l’œuvre. Puis, par le prisme des personnages, on découvre des traits résurgents de la tradition satirique théâtrale italienne. Est ensuite évoquée la manière dont Moretti joue avec des imaginaires populaires externes pour construire Palombella rossa. Enfin, on aboutit à la mise en évidence du processus mémoriel en (re)construction en proposant plusieurs lectures du film et en montrant l’importance de certaines séquences et effets de mise en scène récurrents.
